# MyInvois Validation Passed. Here's Why Your Books Still Don't Balance.

If you manage MyInvois for your SME clients, you've had this moment: the e-invoice gets validated by LHDN, the green tick shows up, everyone breathes easy —and then at month-end, the bank statement still doesn't match.

Validation and reconciliation are not the same checkpoint. MyInvois validation confirms that the e-Invoice has passed IRBM's validation and is accepted into the MyInvois workflow. It does not confirm settlement, receipt of cash, or bank matching.

**Where the gap actually shows up**

For Shopee/Lazada sellers, this gap has a specific shape:

1. **Transaction date ≠ settlement date.** A MyInvois e-Invoice records the sales transaction. The actual bank credit may arrive days later, after Shopee or Lazada completes settlement and releases the payout.

2. **Sales value ≠ bank payout.** The e-Invoice or sales record reflects the transaction value. The bank statement reflects the net amount received after marketplace fees, vouchers, refunds, shipping adjustments, and other deductions.

3. **Marketplace payout sits in between.** The Shopee/Lazada settlement report is the missing middle layer , it's what actually connects the invoice to the bank credit. Skip it, and you're trying to match two documents that were never going to align in the first place.

This is why, building the matching logic for this ourselves, we had to deliberately build in date tolerance rather than expecting exact matches , a gap of a few days between transaction date and bank settlement is normal, not an error. In manual Excel reconciliation, this often leads to forced matches, unexplained differences, or extra back-and-forth checking.

**What this means for your client checklist**

Validated in MyInvois is step one. The real reconciliation question is: does this transaction eventually show up as cash in the bank, and does the amount make sense once marketplace deductions are accounted for? If you're only checking the MyInvois dashboard, you're seeing that the document is correct , not that the books balance.

This is the exact gap Rekons' 3-way match is built to close — chaining MyInvois → Shopee payout → bank credit automatically, with the date and amount tolerance built in, instead of manually eyeballing three documents that were never going to match exactly.
